Wildcats Under 10 Boy’s Select team takes 2nd-place at PHMSA Soccerfest

PHMSA Soccerfest took place the weekend of April 4-5. The Under 10 Boy’s Select team “Wildcats” played great matches, winning games over the Davis Scorpions and Palo Alto Premier on Saturday and had enough points to advance to the semi-finals Sunday where they faced a tough Antelope Valley team.

The Wildcats came out on top 3-2 in a hard fought battle, advancing to the championship game. There they met MDSA Strikers, from Concord who proved better that game, winning 4-1. Still, a great second-place finish in the tournament for the PHMSA Wildcats.more...

Alhambra’s Laura Gordon named DFAL Co-Most Valuable Player in soccer

Alhambra senior Laura Gordon was named the Co-Most Valuable Player of the Diablo Foothill Athletic League (DFAL) for 2009.

The talented senior is headed to the University of San Francisco to play for the Lady Dons in the fall. She helped lead her team to the Quarter-Finals of the North Coast Section Playoffs in February.more...

Strong finish for Alhambra soccer season

Varsity Bulldogs take 3rd-place in DFAL.

On February 13, the varsity Bulldogs braved driving rain while they played Miramonte. It was the final game of the season, a win would mean a tie with Las Lomas in DFAL standings.  Earlier in the week, on February 11, the Bulldogs had been victorious against Campolindo, where they won the game with a 2-0 score.more...

They just keep getting better

The Alhambra Bulldogs Men’s Soccer teams have roared back into winning form after the school’s winter break. The Varsity Bulldogs lost against Campolindo on January 9th; the game score was 3-1. The game started off promising with Isaac “Chiquis” Maldonado scoring unassisted in the 36th minute. The score was 1-0 for Alhambra at the half. Unfortunately, they were unable to hold the lead and Campolindo scored three times in the 2nd half of the game. Goalkeeper Todd Baer made 12 saves during the game. more...
