Pacheco Blvd. resident suffers fatal gunshot wound
UPDATE: FLETCHER’S ADULT DAUGHTER CONFESSES TO MURDER
Up a steep gravel roadway adjacent to the railroad tracks crossing Pacheco Blvd., a dilapidated house sat empty on Friday after Martinez Police found the homeowner shot to death just after noon on Thursday in unincorporated Martinez.
An autopsy performed on the body revealed the man, later identified as Paul D. Fletcher, had died from a gunshot wound and detectives are treating the case as a homicide.more...

Council considering annexation of unincorporated areas
At stake are property taxes from homes in Alhambra Valley and Pacheco, netting approx. $116,000 per year for the City.
At its last meeting of 2008, the City Council discussed annexations. It also officially extended a grant of $60,000 and a loan of $40,000 to the Willows Theatre Company.
As reported in the July 27 edition of the Gazette, councilmember Michael Menesini had strongly urged his fellow City Council members to move forward on the City’s annexation of two sections of unincorporated Martinez - Alhambra Valley and a section entitled North Pacheco, bordered by Pacheco Boulevard, Blum Road, Interstate 680 and Highway 4.more...
