Many films have had a go at a post-apocalyptic setting but few have tried to mix it with biblical philosophy.  The Book of Eli, directed by twin brothers Allen and Albert Hughes, tries to do just that with a healthy helping of action adventure. The film follows Eli (Denzel Washington) as he treks through decaying forests and desert surrounded by abandoned highways on his journey west as he tries to get a sacred book he has been divinely charged to take to the place it is most needed.
