Merchants get runaround from MSM regarding kiosk ads
The kiosk at the Downtown Plaza is currently featuring an ad for MSM boardmember Dunnivan’s 49-unit project, but merchant group is told MSM has no process or rates in place for such ads.

The kiosk, operated by Main Street Martinez, features a map highlighting MSM-friendly businesses on one side, an announcement of the upcoming Peddler’s Faire facing the street, and now on the side facing Starbucks, a poster extolling the virtues of the proposed housing development known as Berrellesa Palms. more...

Despite economy woes, dog owners keep local groomer busy. Central Bark is one of the busiest merchants in downtown Martinez.

In fact, if you need to bring your pooch in for a haircut and manicure (as well as the other grooming services she provides), expect to wait three weeks for your appointment.
“I love poodles most of all,” says Deanna, who specializes in small dogs. Her silver poodle, Tiffany, a show dog, has recently injured her kneecap and won’t be at a dog show until next year.more...

The Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Le Shoppe on Ferry Street took place last week. At left: Cynthia Murdough, Executive Director of the Martinez Chamber of Commerce.
