Contra Costa County tax assessor Gus Kramer has joined the ranks of homeowners across the nation who are losing their homes to foreclosure. Kramer plans to appeal verdict

County Assessor was fined $100,000 in federal court for retaliating against a staffer who had filed a harassment suit against him.

Contra Costa County Assessor Gus Kramer declared on Friday his plans to appeal this week’s federal jury verdict that orders Kramer and the County to pay over $400,000 in punitive damages to a member of his staff.
