Judge sides in favor of Berrellesa Palms

A Superior Court judge has denied issuing a court order to the City to prevent the construction of Berrellesa Palms, a high-density senior housing development at the center of controversy for much of 2009.

Judge Barry Baskins issued a tentative ruling in the case, brought against the City, developer RCD and the Joanne and Earl D. Dunivan trust by the Martinez Fair and Responsible Growth Coalition in October. more...

Berrellesa Palms court case postponed

The judge set to preside over a lawsuit filed against the City and Resources for Community Development by the Martinez Fair and Responsible Growth Coalition over the proposed Berrellesa Palms senior housing development has requested a postponement of a hearing originally set for today at 8:30 a.m. in Dept. 7. According to a member of the MFRGC, Judge Barry Baskin set a new date of May 27. Neither the MFRGC, the City nor RCD asked for the time extension.
