Alliene Victorene McCaskill passed on in the loving presence of her children on April 15th, at her home in Martinez, California. Her long, heroic battle with cancer over, this uncomplaining, lovely lady is in the hands of the angels now.
She was born to Grover and Mary Webb on May 27th, 1931, in Larue, Arkansas. Alliene, born into a prosperous farm family, lived in northern Arkansas with four brothers; Grover, Nolan, Buell, and Robert, as well as her two sisters, Wendy and Marigold, until she was 12.

Angie Azevedo was born and raised in Martinez, California on May 31, 1927. She graduated from Alhambra High School in 1945 and worked for Harry Cort's Jewelers, American Trust Bank, and Dr. Fitzpatrick's office for 38 years. Her loving husband of 54 years, Ralph Azevedo, son Arnie, Sister Norma and parents Arnold and Lena Martellini preceded her in death. She leaves behind her sons Gary (wife Katie, children Mark, Beth, and Nic) and Tom (wife Karen and children Mark and Morgan), grandchildren Jennifer, Amy, Curt (children of Arnie) and many dear friends, especially Darwee Costanza.
Angie enjoyed living in Martinez close to family and an abundance of great and caring friends. She was a wonderful wife, mom, mother-in-law, Grandma (Nonni), and friend.
Judith Lee Conradson

Judy passed away on March 12th peacefully at her home in Walnut Creek with her family at her side.
Judy was a lifelong resident of Contra Costa County a Martinez native and lived in her Walnut Creek home for 50 years. Judy graduated from Alhambra High School (Class 58) and Armstrong College in Berkeley. She began her legal secretary career which spanned more than 4 decades withContra Costa County's premier law firm Tinning & Delap,then Cooper, White & Cooper; Robbins, Palmer & Allen and Cederborg & Bret. Judy continued to work full-time a week prior to her death.

David G. Myers, of Shasta Lake passed away suddenly on March 3, 2012 while on vacation in Orlando, Florida at the age of 47.
David was born in Martinez in November of 1964 to Georgia and Carl Myers. The youngest of six boys, David grew up in Martinez where he played baseball for much of his adolescence. He attended Mt. Diablo high school where he met his future wife, Bonnie. David worked in construction while raising his daughter, Jillian and son, Wesley while residing in Suisun City, CA for 17 years.

Bruce Alan Bettencourt, 57 entered into rest in Fremont on February 28, 2012; he was born in Oakland on December 18, 1954 to Ernest and Thelma (Gifford) Bettencourt.
Bruce was a graduate of Alhambra High School in Martinez Class of 1973 and received his Bachelor's Degree at Cal State Hayward in 1977. He worked at Lawrence Livermore Lab for 30 years. Bruce enjoyed the San Francisco 49ers, San Jose Sharks, trains and his cats.

Phyllis Jane Roberts, loving mother of Robin Widick and Marcy Terherst, adored grandmother of Abby Sterling, David Blankenship, Adrienne Chen, Sarah and Hannah Terherst and great grandmother of Ruby Blankenship and Allison Sterling, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday afternoon.
Jane touched many lives through her incredible kindness and love, and her generous spirit. She taught third grade at Martinez Elementary School for more than 30 years, before retiring in 1989.

Marilyn Jean Doss was born on April 1, 1944, in Martinez, CA, to long-time Martinez residents Marion and Mabel Doss. She passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest in Maryland on January 18, 2012.
Marilyn grew up in Martinez, where she was an excellent student and was active in school and community organizations. She graduated from Alhambra High School with honors in 1962 and from UC Davis in 1966. She received a secondary teaching credential from Davis in 1967.

Born in Glendale, CA on August 4, 1925, Helen moved to Martinez, CA at six months of age, where she resided her entire life. It was there that she met the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Melvin Foreman, who preceded her in death.

Angelo Genezio Gardella passed away peacefully at age 92 on Friday, February 10.
He was the youngest of three children born to Angelo and Maria Gardella. Born and raised in Martinez, Angelo graduated from Alhambra High School in 1938. In 1939, Angelo began his lifelong career at the Shell Martinez Refinery Complex. Between 1942 and 1945, Angelo served with the Army Air Corp. He returned to Shell in 1945 until retirement in 1980.

Jane attended University of California, Berkeley graduating summa cum laude in English 1948. She married Thomas B. Fernandez, Jr. December 11, 1948.

Passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side in Pacific Grove at The Del Monte Rest Home where he had resided since July of 2011. Hulet's wife of 50 years, Mary Lynn, predeceased him in 1995. He is survived by his children Jane Hornbeck Consani (Roger) of Carmel Valley and Lawrence Hornbeck (Irene Larson) of Martinez. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Hornbeck Steele (Allen) of Walnut Creek. Hulet was grandfather to Jennifer Franet (deceased), Jessica Consani, Julia Franet-Hornbeck, Rachael Franet-Hornbeck, Sveta Hornbeck, Katya Hornbeck, Pasha Hornbeck, great grandfather to Zachary, Sage, Dmitry & Stas. He was a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews in a large extended family.

Cheryl Heinrichson-Muraoka, a resident of Broomfield Colorado, passed away peacefully in her home on December 12, 2011 after a courageous 10 year battle with breast cancer.
Born June 13, 1956 in Walnut Creek, California, Cheryl spent most of her life in Martinez before moving to Colorado. She was a 1974 graduate of Alhambra High School and attended Sacramento State University prior to becoming a nurse. Cheryl's passion was working with children and raising her daughter Ashley and not to be forgotten, her little buddy BJ. She was an avid sports fan who loved bowling and baseball and was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants.

Myles Glenworth Harrieth (Heruth) passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4 after complications of pneumonia. Myles was 87 years old, just a month shy of 88.
Myles was born on Feb. 6, 1924 in Bemidgi, Minnesota. His parents were Paul Albert Harrieth and Zella Julia Norbo. After moving to Calif. he attended and graduated from Alhambra high school in 1943. Myles worked many years for Del Monte Corp., after which he worked for the City of Berkeley until he retired. Through all this time, he worked part-time in Real Estate. He then worked full-time until the time of his death. Myles worked for Century 21 and Kropa Reality. He liked playing golf, watching golf, football and baseball and spending time with his family
