Passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side in Pacific Grove at The Del Monte Rest Home where he had resided since July of 2011. Hulet's wife of 50 years, Mary Lynn, predeceased him in 1995. He is survived by his children Jane Hornbeck Consani (Roger) of Carmel Valley and Lawrence Hornbeck (Irene Larson) of Martinez. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Hornbeck Steele (Allen) of Walnut Creek. Hulet was grandfather to Jennifer Franet (deceased), Jessica Consani, Julia Franet-Hornbeck, Rachael Franet-Hornbeck, Sveta Hornbeck, Katya Hornbeck, Pasha Hornbeck, great grandfather to Zachary, Sage, Dmitry & Stas. He was a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews in a large extended family.

Cheryl Heinrichson-Muraoka, a resident of Broomfield Colorado, passed away peacefully in her home on December 12, 2011 after a courageous 10 year battle with breast cancer.
Born June 13, 1956 in Walnut Creek, California, Cheryl spent most of her life in Martinez before moving to Colorado. She was a 1974 graduate of Alhambra High School and attended Sacramento State University prior to becoming a nurse. Cheryl's passion was working with children and raising her daughter Ashley and not to be forgotten, her little buddy BJ. She was an avid sports fan who loved bowling and baseball and was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants.
Myles Glenworth Harrieth

Myles Glenworth Harrieth (Heruth) passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4 after complications of pneumonia. Myles was 87 years old, just a month shy of 88.
Myles was born on Feb. 6, 1924 in Bemidgi, Minnesota. His parents were Paul Albert Harrieth and Zella Julia Norbo. After moving to Calif. he attended and graduated from Alhambra high school in 1943. Myles worked many years for Del Monte Corp., after which he worked for the City of Berkeley until he retired. Through all this time, he worked part-time in Real Estate. He then worked full-time until the time of his death. Myles worked for Century 21 and Kropa Reality. He liked playing golf, watching golf, football and baseball and spending time with his family
Helen (Malm) Bell

Helen Bell passed peacefully following a recently diagnosed illness. Helen, Mom, Mimi, Grandma, G-G (Great Grandma) was born in Martinez, CA to Swedish immigrants. Following graduation from Alhambra High School, Helen married Jack Delbert (Del) Bell and briefly left the Bay Area to live the life of a farmer's wife in the Central Valley. Returning to Martinez in the early 1950's, they enjoyed strong friendships and the small-town environment in which to raise a family. An avid reader, Helen kept the family busy searching for the next read. Helen's day didn't officially start until the daily crossword puzzle was completed. Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Helen leaves behind a family grateful for her gentle spirit, accepting nature and love of "everything family": daughters Betty Bell Amarant (John) and Wanda Estrada (Terry); grandchildren Paul Estrada (Mary), Mercedes Sherman (Robert), Carissa Clark (Darwin), Danielle Amarant and Kirsten Estrada; great grandchildren Harley, Holden, Blake and Izaac.Norman Langston

Norman passed from this earth in Tuscon, Arizona after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Jordan, Arkansas and grew up in Martinez, California. He graduated from College Park High in 1966.
He is survived by his three daughters, Gina Trombetta of Long Island, New York, Cheri Foster of Vail, Arizona, Sarah Tapp of Valdez, Alaska and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother Anna Lee Grimsley, sister Kathy Langston and brother Kenneth Langston.
His final resting place is the Wayland Family Arbor in Dolf, Arkansas.

Marilyn Stone Wilson

Marilyn (Lynne) Stone Wilson, a long time Martinez resident, passed away on October 11, 2011 at the age of 86. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who enjoyed gardening, painting, pottery, reading and knitting baby blankets for all her grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Claudia Wilson, of Lexington, Massachusetts, son Kirk Wilson and daughter-in-law Carol Wilson of Martinez, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Claude Wilson and her daughter Sheana Wilson Ruiz. Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marilyn’s memory to The American Diabetes Association.

Born in Montana to Eva and Albert Relitz, Bonnie was a longtime resident of Martinez. Married to Harold (Hal) Sloper for 59 years, she was an avid crafter, involved school volunteer and Campfire Leader in addition to being a dedicated SF 49er & Giants fan.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Hal and children Steven Sloper and Lauri Sloper. Grandmother to Erin Hardey, Katie Oshita, Kiel Sloper and Ryan Sloper. Great-grandmother to Megan, Mariah, Sasha, Lee, Tony Hardey and Emily and Keira Oshita.

Michael William Patrick 42, passed away Saturday, August 20th. He lived most of his life in Martinez and attended local schools.
Michael was loved by his friends and family for his kindness, dependability and sense of humor.
He is survived by his father Joseph and brother Robert Patrick of Martinez and his mother Diana Patrick of Calistoga.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held this Saturday, September 3rd. from 11:00 to 1:00 at 414 Ferry Street, Martinez. All of Michael’s friends are invited.

Edward Charles Borgeson, 81, former resident of Martinez, California, passed away on August 29, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ed was born December 1, 1929, in Martinez, to Catherine Della Rosa Borgeson and Edward O. Borgeson. He graduated in 1947 from Alhambra High School, and married his high school sweetheart Gloria Gemetti Borgeson on April 16, 1950.
After graduating from high school, Ed played football for the Alhambra alumni football team in 1949 and 1950. He was a standout halfback, playing against the likes of USF with future NFL Hall of Famers Bob St. Clair and Ollie Matson. In addition, he served in the California National Guard from 1947-1950.
Joseph Donald MacPhee

Joseph Donald MacPhee passed away on September 22nd after a short illness. He will be remembered for his civic affiliations and for his and his wife Maryima's lay ministry at St. Catherine's Church in Martinez.
Don was born in Boston on July 23, 1924. He joined the Navy in 1942 just shy of his eighteenth birthday. He was a machinist mate and his Navy service was a source of pride and numerous stories and memories. He went to college at Northeastern and Heald College earning a BS degree in mechanical engineering.
John Francis Sonnikson, Sr.

Lifetime resident of Martinez for fifty-four years, John passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Born to Jim and Merna Sonnikson, he attended Martinez schools, graduating from Alhambra High School in 1975. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, then worked in his father’s business as a carpenter. When his father retired he worked with his brother Michael for a few years, and then went out on his own, doing carpentry, concrete work, heating and air conditioning, auto repair and many other things. John was quite talented.
Richard “Butch” Delevati

Butch grew up and lived in Martinez for most of his life. However, he spent the last 20 years in far Northern California and passed away peacefully at home with his family in Redding on the 26th of May 2011. He is survived by his wife Joan, his seven children, Paul, John, Kathleen, Joseph, Lorraine (Christopher), David (Roxanne) and Peter (Katrina), as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
