Tim Lincecum Showing Some Wear?
What’s plaguing Tim Lincecum? It could be his fastball. He’s down several miles per hour from last season according to the early-season readings. That is both in terms of average and maximum velocity. The results have been opponents having much greater success against said fastball.

Céspedes Makes Real
Impressive Debut with A’s
Yoenis Céspedes has put his name into select company in Oakland Athletics franchise history with his outstanding start to the 2012 season. He has now hit three home runs in his first four games with the team and now joins a list that includes Jack Cust, Mark McGwire, Reggie Jackson and Jimmie Foxx. What is also impressive for Céspedes is that all four of his hits this season have gone for extra bases, all three home runs have been hit with at least one runner on base and that he has gone from batting seventh in the A’s lineup to hitting cleanup.
Downtown Perspectives: Wandering around the marina, river mud and downtown

As this column has consistently set forth, whatever can be done to increase the flow of affluent visitors wandering around Main Street is a step in the right direction for the downtown. Whether it's a matter of visiting boaters, boaters who trailer in to the boat ramps, owners who berth their boats here, or live-aboards, the Marina offers exactly that type of clientele. Our Marina is something that neither Walnut Creek nor Pleasant Hill will ever have. We should do whatever we can to make the Marina an attractive destination for boaters.

MAIN STREET – the suggested/proposed changes being kicked around sound pretty exciting. Every time we drive up/down Main Street with the "out croppings" I vividly recall the clamor on that street during the bustling times of the '30s, '40s and '50s, until the "big guys" came to Contra Costa County's central area and "stole" Penny's, Montgomery Ward, Karl's and Kirby's shore stores, Western Auto, etc.
